Nothing wrong with a knife correctly employed. "They should never know you have it until it's already been used on them."
 
I like the USP Compact. What made me return to the Glock family after 6 months of carrying one was not JUST the fact that I couldn't adjust to having a thumb safety again after all these years (Glock since 2007) it was the fact that even if I carried it safety off it had that long heavy first round trigger pull vs a completely different pull weight for subsequent shots. This was the thing I hated about all the wonder 9's to begin with. Consistency. You want the same thing every time. "Smooth". I carried a S&W K frame for work for years initially, so maybe that's part of it. For me a DA only USP-C might be the answer for that gun, and from there work on the trigger pull. I do have the Gray Guns Short Reset in there already. I'm in the process of moving to the G43X other than that. Gonna change my mode of carry as well.

My compact is perfect for me. My first new pistol was a USP in 1993. I don't like cocked and locked, so I carry one in the pipe/safety off. I practice drawing with my pistols, drawing the hammer back as I draw. If it's SA-DA, it doesn't matter, but SA pistols deem it required.
As for my USPc, I have a HK installed match trigger in there [with added hammer], had it Magna-Ported, and a Big-Dot front sight for my old eyes. I've had a dozen striker pistols....and hated them all. CC9 was last, and I didn't get 3 mags thru it.
