I own both the HK 91 and the HK MR762.
I like the HK91. The MR762 is the current design and the best of the AR design with the direct drive piston instead of just pushing gas into the gas buffer that moves the bolt backwards.
BUT MY CHOICE is the HK91. Love shooting it when ever I get the chance. Accurate, easy to shoot and hit out to 600 yards or longer, depending on the shooter's capabilities.
I like the heavier feel and for me it absorbs the recoil pretty nicely, depending on the overall design of the HK91 you are using.
The PSG1 is an excellent example of the absorbing recoil idea.
While Jeff's DRAGONS are a good example of an HK91 pistol (his design is an HK51k pistol) that has a very short package to absorb the recoil the the 308 rounds. Jeff's Dragons also come in .223/5.56 (HK53k pistol), the 7.62x39 (HK52k) and the 5.56x45 (HK 54k) as well. Dang it, I may have to collect one of each, just because they are cool.
