I made one of those once too:
That one was made to fit a G3 backplate & used a magpul prs2 pad. It was made of 4 layers of birch plywood (I never got a picture of the edges). I should have used shellac to finish though, that probably would have shown the plywood laminations better. I've always wanted to do one with an integral pistol grip, really like a Dragunov! A bit hard to do, but possible.

Looking for something else I found a matching G3 length handguard, so I thought I would give the CETME a change of look for a little while. Too bad there's so much junk around my shop!
