WTK: How to Solve a HK Interface Claw Mount Fitting Issue

I had the same problem several years ago. The mount would not fit, and I ended up breaking the pin in trying to force it to work.

One word.......Dremel.
Unfortunately, that was the only course that worked {for me at least}, along with a
new pin on the Stanag mount. Good luck.

Hydrogen bonding or demal tool.
 
This whole thing revolves around a 'vintage' G3 and the more recent 91...the sight base weldment is machined different in the saddle dimensions, tho they look very much the same. That, and the epoxy finish on 91's add to the thickness overall. G3's were just Parkerized.

Keep in mind the STANAG mounts were produced for use on G3's, not commercial 91's.

Yeah.......with age comes "wisdum".....something I'm still playing catch up on. Got the age,
it's the latter half I'm working on.

PS Wish I would have known that then.....but thanks for educating me on that bit of info.

While he's right, I've never personally seen an HK civilian type rifle that a surplus HK mount would not snap onto because of problems. The few microns or maybe even a couple thousandths of paint on the gun doesn't make that big of a difference. Rubber/plastic bumper in the way? Saddle dimensions? Yeah, those I've seen cause problems. Paint? Never.
