Purchased on 3/01/91.
Purchased this SPORTER rifle back in 1991 to keep my SP1's company.
Seldom if hardly used, back of the safe it went. It became a Safe Queen rifle over the years.
Kept in minty condition .223 snake cleaned, property lubricated, muzzle capped in dust free safe.
Periodically checked and maintained during my "Man Cave Years" of "ooohing & aaahing" pistol/rifle handling sessions.
Factory Colt R6530 Sporter Lightweight with standard A2 flash hider, no bayonet lug, short carbine round ribbed handguard,
A2 grip with finger grooves, A2 fixed carry handle/rear sight, fixed A1 buttstock marked with "CS" with storage compartment.
Early 1990's "CS" marked buttstocks are now considered a rare collector's item.
In later production they changed the short A1 "CS" type stocks with the standard 5/8" longer A2 buttstock,this model was discontinued.
Markings: Left side of receiver marked COLT SPORTER LIGHTWEIGHT tm CAL. .223 SER. SL 002587 with the Rampant Colt logo. Also marked behind bolt catch, COLT’S FIREARMS DIVISION COLT INDUSTRIES HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A.
Marked with safe and fire.The barrel marking, C MP 5.56 NATO 1/7 and the barrel is fitted with an A2 flash hider.
Front sight post marking, "S" a Circle with RI "6". Barrel bore condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp.
The upper receiver has two small very faint proof marks next to the delta ring, One is a "C" in a square, the other
has "VP" in an inverted triangle. In front of the rear sight marked with "CM" production code.
Buttstock marked with "CS" refers to a specific variation appearing in early 1990's on the Model R6530.
Colt "half-moon" carrier marked "C", The bolt acid etched with "MPC" markings, standard firing pin and cotter style retaining pin.
Sights are standard A2-style iron sights, Front Fixed sight post, Rear sight A2 Fixed carry handle.
Rifle retains its original internal parts, Colt Carbine Buffer (Standard), Colt factory Carbine standard handguards.
The buttstock is fixed nylon buttstock. Marked "CS" with a trap door compartment for cleaning kit.
It also has the rubber coated Non - swinging sling swivel.

The first ACOG (Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight) model, known as the TA01, was released in 1987.
TRIJICON ACOG TA01 4X32 Riflescope with Integral M-16 base, original case, serial number 3411 & manual.
This COLT SPORTER LIGHTWEIGHT overall condition, retains about 97-98% of original finish.
Low round count (100rd-200rd) range.
The markings are clear. Furniture is all in very good condition. Minor scuff marks on charging handle.
Rifle rates are about very good to fine condition having been properly maintained and cared for over
the past 35 years of its lifetime with me.
I'm asking $3800 OBO and would be open to reasonable offers, shipped with insurance included, my FFL to your FFL.
I'll cover all shipping costs with insurance also to be provided.
