I'm not a 1911 fan, but couldn't find a really small, full-power pistol with a hammer. My FFL gave it to me to try. If I didn't like it, give it back.
I haven't returned it...but bought big-dot sights and grips for it.

It's plenty accurate, bucks a bit, and all the weight is in your hand. If I ever need it, I won't notice any of those things. I practice drawing the hammer with my thumb, as I draw. I'm not a fan of cocked and locked, and keep one in the pipe at all times.Kimber in watch pocket.jpg

Thanks for the info. I pray that you will never need it it that way.

In the wayback, I carried this as a TS/SCI courier between D.C and Strike U in Fallon, NV.

That’s an old Alessi holster that Lou made for me before folks knew what IWB meant. I got tired of carrying it in the snap pocket on my leather flight jacket and ran into him at a military equipment show in Virginia. He said fifty bucks and two weeks later it was in my mailbox.

The best part was this pistol would also take a stock GI 1911 mag. I shot mid 260’s on the bullseye course at 25 & 15 yards with it.

Retired it up when I bought my first HK; a P7M13. Loaded with 124gr Black Talons with 2 spare mags on the other side.

Checked in one day at DC National (Reagan), with my “shoot me” briefcase and my little yellow courier card, showed it to the pilot and asked if he had a problem with me flying armed. Nossir, have a seat and enjoy your flight! I miss those pre 9/11 days! 😎 TSA’d have kittens.

I sold a NIB DETONICS-45 about 4 years ago. Weird/cool little pistol. All pistols are sold as used, if not sold retail at my friend's store.

What’s pretty nifty is that it’s made to carry cocked and locked, or hammer down on a live one. That’s why the top of the slide is scalloped; so you can thumb cock it in a hurry.

I like mine and still carry it occasionally.

Here’s some of my non HK toys.....

AOC M1A1 Thompson in a WWII Jeep

It will eventually be painted black, I still think I want to touch up some of the welds before I blast it and give it a final finish but for now its Krylon "pimp-daddy" gold...

Still pretty neat--- a "Golden Knight" edition. :)

1952 Colt LWC in 38-super. I bought it unfired, from the original purchaser. In the 60's, he sent it to a real Colt armorer to be made into the ultimate carry pistol. A bunch of the parts were hand-made from Gold-Cup parts...and the state of the art, aftermarket parts available. After that, he still never shot it. It was "too pretty". LOL
This thing is a laser.

Its not my jeep but it is my Thompson. I won’t post the videos of me driving across the range and shooting said Thompson one handed into the berm......just because I could.....yes checked that off the bucket list!!!! (IF that actually happened)
