I know that yesterday I posted a thread asking about a thought that I recently had about the HK433. I want to expand that here to a general discussion thread. Here, we can talk about aspects or what is known or other thoughts about the 433, as well as post videos and photos for purpose of discussion. For now, I'll open the floor for others to post here first, but I'll also be a regular contributor, too.

Edit: I decided to post a few photos now that I have a moment:

OK, now a personal opinion: I wouldn't mind seeing the 433 with a HK416 A5/A7 or F profile barrel (similar to a M16A2 or M4A1 profile). But HK are trying to keep the weight down and use a similar pencil weight barrel as the FN SCAR or the G36.

Thanks for the excellent pictures--- the only thing that I know about the HK 433 is that I would love a civilian version of one. ;)

Why oh why are they not making these here yet. There are multiple ways they could be bringing these to the US market and they are not doing a single one of them. It is practically a miracle they brought the recent offerings to the US market. I am a diehard HK fangirl but damn if they won't drive a girl to drinking waiting for something to come to the US market. HK MP7... HK433... they will all be banned or I will die of old age first before I ever get to own one of these. Where did I leave that bottle at...

I do also have technical drawings and such if you'd like for me to post them.

Now the patent images/technical drawings I mentioned.

Gen 4: https://patents.google.com/patent/DE102017002242A1/en

Gen 5: https://patents.google.com/patent/DE102018001984A1/en?inventor=Wilhelm+Fischbach

And a page from a brochure: Original-Heckler-Koch-Broschure-Sturmgewehr-HK433-Bundeswehr-_57 (3).jpg

Now a bit for discussion. Anyone think that the intermediate and full caliber versions of the 433 will share an upper receiver, or will there be a "large frame" and "small frame" series, like with the FN SCAR or the CZ Bren 2? It seemed for a while that it was possible, but looking back at some of the technical drawings, the component that retains the barrel in the upper extends back into the magwell area too much for say a .308 or 6.5 Creedmoor to fit. So I'm now thinking that the uppers for the intermediate and full power rounds might be similar, but not identical.

Not to mention that every 5.56mm 433 I've seen is marked 5.56x45mm NATO and the HK437 is marked as such and marked with .300 Blackout. All these markings are on the upper. One would think that the upper would be marked Multi-caliber and the caliber would be on the bolt carrier.
