It couldn't possibly be that a plastic blowback gun with a huge bolt sucks to shoot. Expectations were high. Execution was good. Blowback was obsolete in 1950.

Bolt velocity on a G3 is high, and would beat a bolt hold open to death. It would fail, and cause malfunctions.
