I did something I've always wanted to do. A non nfa ruger charger 1022 mares leg. First off I'll state that the LOP is well under commercially avaliable mares legs and in no way can it be shouldered, it's just to short especially with that optic. It does provide a tiny cheek weld similar to the Henry.

I started with a ruger charger pistol and a $35 stock from the gun show. I did the cut a couple times, following the length of the Henry from trigger to stern I felt it was two long to use for a pistol so I removed a couple more inches to stay compliant.

Alittle proof it started life as a pistol... I topped it off with a vintage weaver scope.

The eye relief is perfect. Does not look like it is but it works. Put 4 different vintage scopes up there before I settled with that one. It was a $55 gunbroker find from a decade or so ago that I never mounted on any thing.

After the first of the year I'm going to thread that barrel as short as I can go and inlet and trim the stock so about a inch of a supressor sticks past the wood. If I go to nuts I'll high gloss blue a silencer for it.

As soon as the kids are in bed I'm going to add two sling swivels, one in the very rear of the mares leg and one under the front. This should allow for a good shooting stance as the pistol is being pushed against the sling away from your shoulder directly inline of the bore axis.
