Trying to get my mom's old car finished for mopar-nats. Gotta be there next Thursday. I haven't cleaned it in years..................just constant fabbing. The idea was to keep it looking factory, with mag wheels. It's been much more difficult than a blingy or hot-rod build. I'm working hard, but won't skip any details to go. My mother is looking-down, and smiling.

Here's a thread, with a lot of the build.....

I never wanted to. I had my own car. I drove it for the first time, 2 days ago. It's apart, again. Starting the process of debugging all the updated changes. This car would have been done YEARS ago, if I hadn't changed direction from 100% factory, and had so many other distractions in the car hobby.

Nice job!
Too bad you couldn't have found a 426 :)
A whole lot less computers but the NEW HEMI will be more drivable

I have a 588 pump-gas hemi that I just built, and am going to sell. I hate driving old-school cars. They don't do anything well. I race them, but no thanks for driving.

Holy Crap!

Are you going to post a vid of it? I'll bet it burbbles nicely at idle.
New cars don't sound anything like the old ones, now that they have EFI, variable cam timing, and hydraulic roller valve-trains. It's not like my minivan.....but nothing like my old-school cars, either. It has 2 more mufflers, behind the rear axle, so it's nice and quiet. I'm guessing it'll be very quick and fast, even with a stock driveline....except headers and air-filter.
It weighs 6-800 lbs less than a new Challenger.

2" drop spindles, with all the Borgeson, HOTCHKIS, QA1, Bilstein, and Wilwood goodies. The steering linkage is from the larger C-body mopars, and much beefier/rigid. These parts correct geometry and are much stronger.

I decided that patience and not rushing the attempted perfection of this build, is the plan. I'll be taking another of my exercises in mental-masterbation to the NATS. I've already taken it a couple other times, but I'm not gonna miss something or screw up the work already done to the `cuda. It's not done, and details will need to be sorted.

Didn't get my 1st 426 until my '70 Challenger

Damn, and NONE looked like yours

I remember my father bought his very first new car............ 1969 BUICK WILDCAT that had a vinyl roof covering.
that thing was a gun boat, BIG and with a V-8 engine to boot. I even remember the price he paid, 5,000 bucks, which was for the time was a HUGE AMOUNT OF MONEY

back then BUICK made 3 different classes of cars; economy, family and luxury........now they all seem to be luxury

My dad bought a set of 906 heads and a bunch of other stuff from Herb McCandless back in the early 80's. We drove to his shop to pick up the parts.
I didn't know who he was, my dad was giddy like a school girl meeting him.

Those early B-bodies are just beautiful IMHO.
