1956 Springfield Armory M1 Service Rifle with original 11/55 Springfield barrel, bolt, op-rod. Original finish!!
1955 Harrington and Richardson M1 Service Rifle. Re-parkerized and new barrel.

Stocks arrived today. Gunbroker had these listed for $21 for the pair. Pleasantly surprised that the lighter colored one is a DAS marked H&R stock. That will hopefully pair up well with the H&R receiver.

Can't tell much yet about the other one. It has 70 years of cosmoline and dirt to get through first.

The darker stock is kinda interesting. Someone scratched "KVAXS" on the forearm. This stock has some serious mileage on it. If it ever had a cartouche stamped on it, its long gone now. But, there is a hint of some really nice wood underneath all the grime.

I found it easier and simpler just to drive to the NORTH STORE and handpicked my GARAND when Greek returns came in. found a nice HRA service grade for 450 bucks

Both rifles now sport USGI wood and correct parts for each manufacture including bolts, op rods, trigger assemblies, sights, etc.

I wish we had a West Coast CMP store. It would be worth the drive. It would be nothing short of a pilgrimage to go to the North or South store from where I am at.
