HK UPS V5 - LEO Trade In Conversion/Update

I have a USP .45 V5 DOA date code KI on its way. I plan on using it for HD only my some range. I have a few questions

Is V5 considered lem?
What parts should I replace?
What parts do I need to convert to DA/SA?

Thanks ahead of time.
 
From HK USP product page:

Variant 5: Double action only with ”SAFE” position. Control lever (manual safety) on left side of frame.

Everything seems fine internally. It has the old sear catch so I’d assume the old firing Pin and what not. There was no sear inside but it dry fired fine. I’ll send a few picture after a while.

I can see the spacer that takes the place of the sear in the 2nd photo
JFYI I have seen some parts on eBay, Search for Hk USP
My 1997 USPc feels smoother than my 2003 to my hands
The slide is for sure slicker
Who knows exactly why?

It's an old V5 (DAO) and not LEM. Old FP/FPB/FPBS but you don't have to replace them except for peace of mind.

V5 to V1 can you simply replace the (at a minimum)?

1) Hammer
2) Detent Plate
3) Sear

Or is it all 10 parts in the post you linked? (Really 9 since you would have the safety/decocker lever on the left)

The only really intimidating part being the trigger rebound spring as it seems pretty tricky to get mounted correctly...

At the minimum, 6 parts (minus #1, 3, 4, and 6). Or, 5 parts if FPBS is not a heavy one.

Thank you for the information. Would you consider changing the recoil spring? Hard to tell the round count. I don’t plan on shooting thousands of rounds through it.
 
I think we got it from the same place! :)

I also received a KI one and it has minimal wear other than holster usage. I am also going to convert to V1.

Yup! I was hesitant at first but I couldn’t pass on it. Im overall satisfied.
