Speaking of which, and I don't know how well it'll show up on here, but I found an image from the June issue of Monthly Gun Professionals that shows the "short boy" 11" HK433 and the HK416/G38 training rifle (which fires blanks or simunition), but if you look where the light shines though page, you can make out the 16.5" HK433 "long boy".

Also just found out Teufelshund Tactical is planning on going to HK later this year (quite possibly with Larry Vickers) to get photos and info for the Vickers Guide to HK Vol. 3, which I think is dedicated to HK rifles. Hopefully James will be able to share some photos and videos of newer HK rifles and such if that happens.

I just found this photo on the Polizei Praxis magazine site, and that's also where I found my high res HK G38 photo that I previously shared as well. Also, K-ISOM magazine are hoping to do a HK433 overview in a few months time (they're thinking around the time of Enforce Tac/IWA next year) and plan on doing a special edition magazine about the new German service rifle (probably the 416 A8).

New photos of the 433 at the RAF's Global Air and Space Chief's Conference:

Anyone know how the front trunnion/barrel extension is put into the upper, given that it's supposed to be an aluminum extrustion? It's not like how those parts are mounted on the SCAR or Bren 2 (where they're screwed/bolted into the upper).

Also another thought on that subject. If the 433 family are built around a common upper receiver, how is the barrel extension being handled? Is it replaceable, the bolt head on all 433-type rifles standardizing on the 7.62mm NATO dimensions, or is the 231 more or less a stand alone variant that's just able to be made on most of the same tooling? You also have to remember that JPW said as early as nearly a year in a half ago that the 437 was intentionally made where certain parts wouldn't interchange to prevent accidental issues involving a 5.56mm vs .300 Blackout caliber swap.

Or could the 231 and 433 still use different uppers?

Probably not very useful, but Monthly Arms Magazine's June and Sept issues have pictorials and articles on the HK433 and 437. Problem is the mags are in Japanese, and you'll have to dig though what felt like 20 pages of adds to get to the table of contents. Best place to get them if you're interested is Japanese Amazon or Hobby Japan (with links to their Amazon store).

Hey--- AK47's and M16's by Tokoi are in Japanese (English translations are rare), but the photographs are beautiful. ;)

The pics are great, but unless you know Japanese, you can't read the articles, they don't really have a good online option for reading (right now only the print mags are available), and the articles, though they probably have good info in them, are fairly short. It also doesn't help that I don't have a scanner to scan the articles and such (let alone maybe violating copyright laws).

An article from Japanese Monthly Arms Magazine, about suppressors in general, but featuring the HK437.

In case my attempt at posting a translated link doesn't work, and so you can use your translator of choice:

I was looking at this screen cap I took of the HK433 family poster in the Galileo video, and I noticed something (maybe). Does the 433 PDW's stock seem shorter than the standard 433's, like the G36/G36K vs G36C stock?

Some more screen caps I made from the Galileo video, including a frozen 433, one with a visor stock, and the HK display room.

S&T are reporting that the German Army is looking for what sounds like a .300 Blackout carbine for spec ops. The 437 fits the bill...
