Why are people hating on the UMP's so much?

@Guyanaman1963 I shot a 16" barrel USC when I took my first Teufelshund Tactical subgun course. I felt like a novice next to the guy shooting a SBR UMP with flames cerakoted on the gun and mags and a suppressor, not to mention all the guys shooting select fire MP5s and clones. After class, the guy with the UMP showed me how to submit an eForm 1 and I acquired a AviatorDave (who's on this forum) UMP which I SBRd and supressed. Like you, I have a hard time sacrificing a USC to make a UMP, but each time I do it, I sell a pistol and buy a new USC. I also got lucky and found a guy on GB who sold a USC complete kit minus the barrel and guts for very very little and I snagged that and am converting it to a 9mm UMP. I'm a purist, so there's no TBT or Omega receivers in my future but I don't think you are being cheap. I love the USC for the unloved stepchild it is. For all it's flaws, it performs flawlessly.

I always liked the way that UMP was set up. The SBR is nice, but the Bond UMP with the suppressor just looks like the cats meow!

It's exactly how I run my UMP45 - no front rails and no optic. Nice clean look to keep people focused on the pretty gun and not my fat gut and sloppy unkept appearance. I mean I see myself as a Daniel Craig-like figure... It's just other people...

I actually pictured you as Daniel Craig based on your discretion!

I agree with the sleekness and no add on optics... just screams buisness !!!!

I am still trying to find a date code (AE or AF?) and a serial number (somewhere between 47-005818 and 47-006658) on the "JS"-marked USC. ;)

Tony

You lost me Tony. I can't tell if you are being funny because I don't know what a "JS" marked USC is...

I am always serious when it comes to firearms data. ;)
Here is what I am referring to: :giggle:

- left receiver (left- “Eagle” over “N” date code “antler” in recessed rectangle/serial number on silver plate in deep, recessed oval; middle- HK JS (in circle) USC in recessed rectangle Heckler & Koch/Jagd- und Sportwaffen GmbH/Made in Germany in recessed rectangle/Heckler & Koch Inc./Trussville AL in recessed rectangle WARNING/REFER TO OWNER’S MANUAL in recessed rectangle)

Sorry. I had to do it.

A hospital? What is it?

Wow. Have not seen that before on a USC. Have a few USPs with JS but not a USC. That would be circa 2004 then. plus 2005 (which you said above). Would love to see that or a picture at least.

I will try to find the picture again.
