Does anyone know when the first pictogram burst trigger packs were made? The first time I ever saw one was at the Crossroads of West Gun Show in the summer of 1991. I clearly remember the dealer there had a table full of HK SEF trigger packs with F/A bolt carriers as a kit, but he then pulled a 4-pos burst pack out from under the table to show me; 'said it was rare as hen's teeth and just became available. I remember the HK booth at the old Soldier of Fortune Convention in 1987 at the Las Vegas Sahara Hotel/Casino, but I don't recall seeing any of the 'toys' there sporting burst trigger packs, albeit I picked up a nice HK date code HK91 there for $500.

As with most parts, HK likes to put date codes it seems on everything. Curious as to what date these burst selectors are...JB, JC, & IR

I suppose there could be factory ones on the "new" transferable firearms. ;)
Or possibly a DLO sear (@ 50) or registered trigger pack converted to burst configuration.
We need more information. :)

Those 'new' transferable guns would all have to be pre-May 86 but over the years, many of those could have had burst packs installed over the years; nothing to stop them. DLO packs have all been common SEF imports that Doug was smart enough to get his hands on over in Germany (I believe).
I highly doubt there were any pictogram burst packs available pre-May '86. I also doubt there were any 0-1-FA pictogram ambi housings back then. Many folks have had DLO or other registered SEF packs converted to ambi over the years as this seems to be a fairly easy upgrade by reputable gunsmiths; burst trigger packs are on a whole different level of pain-n-suffering.
Now if someone has a pre-may burst pack with the upgraded roller trip lever, I'm pretty sure those folks will never-ever reveal the date code on the LH selector lever or the one on the inside of the grip housing. HK added date codes to virtually everything in the past. It was only recently that HK decided to nix the date codes on pretty much everything Nylon 66/injection mold-wise; no date codes just mean new/recent production...

That is, unless someone can show an IG date-coded burst selector lever or burst trigger grip housing (or whatever date code-equivalent might be on 1986 furniture/accessories or 87, 88, 89, 90 for that fact)...
