FOOD What's For Dinner

Yup, oiled away. I’m certain it was a me issue and probably silly to use a lean protein on the first cook, the peppers and onions had no issues and everything did end up coming up out well. I just threw 1.5lbs of bacon on there to help with seasoning the griddle; it was perfection and took no time at all to cook up....that grease made it like a slippery slide for those little pig strips so we are getting there. Cleanup was a breeze, just push the grease out the back opening into the removable grease trap. So easy. After only 2 1/2 days I can tell this is already a growing obsession. If anyone is contemplating, I say jump in with both feet. The possibilities appear endless and it is a ton o’ fun if you like to cook/grill or for me, now GRIDDLE!!!

Sounds good--- the HK Proshop gang will be by this weekend for a grill-out. ;)

What model do you have there? You have renewed my interest. Anything you would have done different?

I ended up with the 28” Pro Series. I really wanted the 36” Pro Series but the wife talked me off the ledge on my first foray into these things. The 36” is a 4 burner (giving you 4 zones if things need to be cooked at different temps) the 28” has 2. Thinking about it now, the 28” is going to be more than enough for me even when we have people over. The 36” is for serious cooking/gatherings. It’s big. Was able to compare both side by side in store and listened to my better half on this one, I’m happy.

Oh...edit: The only thing I would have done differently is buy one a hell of a lot sooner.

Gary, we have DQ's here too of course, but they quit serving the flavor orange 25 yrs ago (after the first 5, I quit complaining) . Gotta go to the mom n pop places to get one of these now. First one of the season YAY!

Don't ever buy an "orange julius" at DQ. When we were kids, we'd go to Macomb Mall and get them freshly made from freshly cored/ground oranges, ice, and sugar. They vanished for years, then showed up at DQ. I ordered one, and the woman dumps slush-mix, hi-fructose corn syrup, and some orange flavored shit into a blender. When she got to the counter with it....I was walking out the door. I almost puked, watching what was in it.

Yeah, they are nasty. My local DQ guy made me a sample (after complaining about no orange slush). Off to Irma's I went.

Last night I had home-made "sloppy-Mikes" with deviled-egg potato salad....and some Mexican Coca-cola.

I don't give Joe credit for my recipe/seasoning. Once my current coke is gone....I'm stickin' with tea and water. Coca-Cola doesn't like my ethnicity. No more money from Mike.

Oh, I got it now - thanks. RC is still an option :ROFLMAO:
