Hi there from Clarksville Indiana USA two miles from Louisville KY..

Here's my introduction to Hk firearms.. IIRC it was 2002/2003?? Not sure really..
A fellow range member Tom had a USP45Compact that had come over to me & had a reload stuck in his barrel, I assume that round didn't have powder in it & the primer had forced the bullet half way into the polygonal rifling, I always keep tools with Me & He knew that, BTW He worked @ Kiesler's part time. So after getting the brass rod & hammer out I pounded the bullet out for him & traded my SIG Sauer P220ST to him for the USP45C for a few magazines full so we could both taste the other side.. We where both impressed & went on with our Saturday Morning range session.. I wanted an Hk USP Compact.. It shot way better IMO than the Glock 19 I was carrying at the time.

Later the next week I was @ KY Imports in Louisville & asked Paul there if He had any H&Ks, He asked his Wife "Where is that Hk 45 in the black case?"
He presented Me with a USP45Tactical in a big zipper case with all kinds of goodies within, I said WOW Man!! How Much?? He said $600 Cash out the door, I tore my wallet out & the rest is Hk History for me.. What a great pistol that had a UTL, Fake Can & six magazines + other goodies extra O-Rings etc.. SO SWEET!! I had to Buy it... Thanks Paul..
Later on I came across a P7M8 with the mill mark @ a local Pawn Shop & bought it for the Crazy price of $229.. That's right $229 with two magazines & the plastic case.
I had the mill mark removed & had Hk engraved there & had it hard chromed by Horrace Boothe @ Ford's in Florida & bought two extra magazines to also have HCd + had Meprolite night sight installed then bought a carbon scraper & a .270" bore brush for the gas system..
My next Hk was a USP357Compact I found at another Pawn Shop in Louisville with no magazines, Nothing but the pistol alone, I paid $349 & later found a 12 round LEO marked 40 S&W magazine @ KY Imports so I could shoot the small little Hk, This was during the AWB & that magazine cost like $120. OUCH!! I also bought a 40 S&W barrel for it..

Later on in my life I sold all those H&Ks off + several dozen S&Ws, Beretta, Rugers etc. to help fund a house I was buying at the time in Louisville..

Well here come 2020 I had a few Glocks = G24 & G26.4 that I sold at twice the buying price just after the stimulus checks rolled out using Armslist & INGO..
Right after that I had been looking around for a new carry weapon & low & behold I came across two Hk USP 40 Compacts sitting in the glass case at another local Pawn Shop S&S Brothers in Jeffersonville Indiana one mile over from Clarksville.. They had a stainless KH/1997 & a blued AC/2002, The KH was marked $579.99 & the AC $649.99 = WHAT??
There was a Glock 21 in the same case marked $699.99 that sold while I was standing there.. I had to act quickly & bought the stainless one & put the 2nd one on layaway for $600, They gave me $50 off on the 2nd one, The stainless one had one 10 round magazine only, The 2nd blued one has all the goodies + case & two 10 round magazines..
I did a few other deals during that time & sold my Taurus 85CH + ammo at crazy prices to those who didn't have a stash..
I bought a several holsters & magazines threw HKPRO + eBay & Facebook marketplace CHEAP!!

The AC blued one is still on layaway & I owe $210 currently & have till 1/10/21 to pay it off.. Four more weeks, I might pick it up before Christmas or wait till January which is my 55th birthday month+ my Twin Brother Jerry,s too.. Gary & Jerry the Fraternal Twins.. Don't want to stretch my funds too thin currently as I'm retired & my twin brother had a stroke & lost his home due to lack of payments on his mortgage & now lives in my lower level basement with his dog Missy.. He's my Bro.. Been here a year as of 12/27/19..

Well that's my Hk Story of how I walked into several H&Ks @ GREAT prices..
Here's a few pics from our PCs hard drive..

Welcome to the asylum... it is a great place to be. Also... great stories man... loved to read about peeps history with their HK treasures.

Welcome sir! Those are some awesome deals that you found. I gues the moral is to check out the pawn shops as frequently as possible!!!!
welcome again!!!!
M.
I tried that for years... one pawn shop around here owns almost all of them and they mark their stuff way up... never seen a deal to be had on any HK.

I used to go to the several dozen pawn shops every Saturday.
Now you can see cash america pawns inventory online
Only problem is the closest one the manager pulls the good stuff & waits for the price to drop = a month or two then call his buddy to put them all on layaway.. I missed out on a few SIGs they showed in stock that away.. Like $300ea???? I stopped going there, It's just a mile away..
One day while in Jeffersonville I stopped @ S&S Brothers & found my new favorite pawn & gun getting place + my wife loves jewelry & they have heaps of that stuff there.. + Other goodies like guitars amps tools TVs etc.. They have a killer bass amp my son wants to check out..
We bought a Colt Mustang, M&P Shield EZ + a few others there + a few rings & they made a few rings bigger for my wife cheaply..
Nice folks there = A family owned local business
Next time I go there I'm taking #3 son & one of his basses & a cord & will shake the windows with this 300 watt amp there, My Son says Paul McCartney uses that very amp, They've had it in their stock for 8+ years & it's under $300 already.. They will deal.. Worth $600+ IMO it's HUGE..
S&S Brothers Bass Amp.jpgUsed Bass Amp..

I need to ask to see their used holster box in the back, I bet there's a nice HK USPc holster in there + a Shield holster for my Twin Bro.
Bought a M&P Shield 9mm mag in there last week for $20 brand new in the package & saw a paddle holster for it as well..
My Brothers getting an extra magazine for Christmas as a stocking stuffer..

More pics from S&S Brothers

I've found a couple really clean HK's at pawns locally. They weren't smokin'-deals.....but I could actually put my eyes and hands on them.

That's the deal with the pawn shops & you need to have at least 10% to put it on layaway or more..

Good to see there are several folks here that I recognize from HKPRO
I Love it here so far.. Lots of friendly folks with lots of Hks & knowledge

Best pawn shop deal ever so far was the P7M8 for $229 with the purple slide with the mill mark
I almost broke an arm grabbing for my wallet on that one

I have been googling that Bass Amp = Ashdown MAG C410T 300 EVO II
My Son wants/needs that thing.. Wonder if it'll even fit in my VW, Might have to take the C1500 & a tarp..
Need to pay the 2nd Hk USP 40 Compact off 1st, Only $210 more.. OH YEAH!!

That $229 for the P7M8 is the best HK pawn shop deal I have EVER heard of in my ENTIRE LIFE. Man you are lucky you did not get arrested in the parking lot because you STOLE that thing man... lol... seriously... congrats on the deal of the century. I have 3 P7's but I never got one for less than 2k...😖

They where selling for around a grand at that time IIRC
It had very few miles on it & cleaned up as new by Ford's
Been almost 20 years now??

And yeah I tucked it under my arm in that black plastic case & ran to my car laughing.. HaHaHaHa!!!
You couldn't buy the magazines for that now or the gas piston or firing pin bushing
I googled trying to find a photo & came up with a thread I posted & I said $227 not $229.. Old Brain trying to bump up the price by $2
WISH I STILL HAD IT NOW!!

Yup. My FFL sold a BUNCH of them for $895.00

Those are some serious buys! Wish I could run into those... it would be like hitting the lottery! In Central Fl, all I have found were beaters... I dont usually see HK’s even in the LGS! Lol!

Yeah other than the USP45Tactical from KY Imports all my other HK Finds have been from local Pawn Shops..
KY Lost their FFL & now only sell accessories left from the years of gun sales, NOTE: You don't see the ads in shotgun news any more..
I let a P2000SK 9mm get away about six months ago from another pawn in Clarksville = Darn.. Around $450 IIRC
Didn't have the money at the time to put it on layaway & it's a good pawn = Went to high school with the manager & Her twin sister, We have bought 2-3 pistols at that one this year alone
= Glock 24 $400, M&P Shield 2.0 $249 & a Bodyguard .380 stainless engraved, Sold the Glock & My brother & #3 son have the M&Ps.
Sad part is that someone lost their prized possessions for way less than they where worth in order for them to offer them to me at such great prices..
I let a Glock 17L get away too.. Used to love the one I used to have, Love those long slides, The old eyes can focus better when the front sight is a bit farther away.. But I got new glasses now.. HaHa!!
I may get some night sights for these two USP40Compacts & possibly have TooSixy install them for me or ride over to Keisler's & use their tool..
Haven't been there in quite a long while.. Hmmmm??

The coming blued USP40c has some wear on the sights from holster use but otherwise looks new..
I may cold blue them with the touch up pen.

Speaking of old eyes, if I put contacts in - I can focus on the target ..................... but can't see the damn sights. Conundrum :geek:

I have a flat screen monitor that's like 2 1/2 feet away & can see my PC screen great
I hear you bud on the shooting problem, I still try an focus on the front sight but of course the target gets really fuzzy & the old hands shake way more than when I was younger = I turn 55 in January.. Not old but feeling that away more & more every day.. I've had diabetes since I was 12 = 43 years..
Wonder if I can even hit a clay bird @ 100 yards anymore with a handgun, You have to pick a spot about 2 feet higher than the target & gently squeeze the trigger to achieve such accuracy.. Used to blow others away.. They'd shoot all day with a rifle at a few birds & get close, When they where done I would say can I clean up you're pidgeons?? What with that handgun Yeah HaHa!! Then I'd pop it with the first shot.. My range buddy said it's not the gun..
We shot there every Saturday we didn't go to gunshows or Pawn Shop hopping.. Man I miss Mean Marcus.. RIP Ole Bud.. He was from Australia & had to make up for lost time = Had maybe 50+ AKs + whatever else you could imagine..

I was confronted by dumb-luck. When I first starting shooting handguns [USP], I was pretty blind, and didn't know how bad. I worked really hard at getting good, and didn't know any better. I became a really good instinctual-shooter/point-shooter. I hardly use the front sight, and never the rear. I had no idea how or why I shot the way I did....it just worked and I just got good at it. With corrected vision, I had to work at maintaining the practice of not using the sights. When I do, I don't shoot as well. I've never been a "target-shooter", but am a great instinctual shooter.

That method only works with my P7 - it allows me to instinctually just point and shoot. I never have to aim it. BTW, I have the same problem golfing. With contacts I can putt, but can't hit the ball otherwise. Life is cruel :ROFLMAO:

I haven't been to the range since I got my two new pairs of glasses..
They really help when I'm driving.. I can see..
Never tried contacts but another set of twins that I've known 50 years are both left handed & very blind & also Police Officers in our area both win the Top Shot every year.. With Glock 22s.. I showed one of them my Glock 24 & He said where did you get it?? At the Pawn Shop $400..
I have eye trouble some because of the diabetes for 43 years, Don't think I could stand to have anything in my eyes..
I could also point shoot my P7M8 really well, They are amazing & very low recoil because of the gas piston & it being 9mm..
A P7 makes a great hand warmer at the range too.. Gets very hot after 3-4 magazines..
Gotta Run, be back Later.. Duty Calls..
Gary
