Can anyone identify this MP5 flat? Clearly not LSC. I have a few and am wondering about their origins.

I know LSC are the best flats to build on, but what makes one flat better than the other? I have an LSC flat and weld kit I plan to build soon and another unknown flat....I’ll go out on a limb here and presume not all flats are made equal?

No they are not. I can show you a great example of a poorly made flat.

Who's are better? I'll buy some. That is an honest question. I tried one of HK parts. I'm almost sure its a SW flat. it rolled fine but top sucked AZZ. didn't use it. welding practice

I would agree about the LSC flats being the best. The junk one in my photo was a .556 flat from hkparts. Its probably sw or something. Its an ashtray now. I gave up on .556 flat projects until RTG puts out their flat. Its just not worth the aggravation with whats available out there. Ghilliebear probably knows more about whats good to go than anyone.

Thanks for the clarification, I thought you were saying there was something better than the LSC flats. Ive had RDTS (Ralph) do a few things for me. I know the only 9mm flat he will build off of is a LSC. I just did my first build rolling my own. LSC flat was used :)

All of the PTR guns being made are using LSC flats also. Supposedly that’s why there weren’t any of the MP5/MP5K flats on the market for awhile as PTR was taking them all
