Does anyone know approx when HK switched their A3 stock buttpad to the meat-tenderizer as opposed to the earlier concave?

Asking because I noticed in the 1966 41 manual it pictures the gun with the latter type as opposed to the earlier?

Any info is appreciated.

On U.S. imports, I believe that the convex stocks were introduced after 1966, and beginning in 1974. ;)

I really don't know – that's what came on that rifle - from Larry Vickers after he was ill before he had his troubles.
