WTK: A3 stock change?

Does anyone know approx when HK switched their A3 stock buttpad to the meat-tenderizer as opposed to the earlier concave?

Asking because I noticed in the 1966 41 manual it pictures the gun with the latter type as opposed to the earlier?

Any info is appreciated.

On U.S. imports, I believe that the convex stocks were introduced after 1966, and beginning in 1974.

Thanks. That’s what’s on my 41 (I call it “concave” flat is prob more appropriate). Interesting that the 1966 HK manual has an example with the convex.

I really don't know – that's what came on that rifle - from Larry Vickers after he was ill before he had his troubles.
