Do you carry extra mags when concealed carrying?

For comparison, Glock 19.5FS which weighs 30.16 ounces loaded with 15 rounds. Figure 30.5 ounces with a full 15+1 rounds. A 40 S&W weights about .6 of an ounce (17 grams) whereas a 9mm is about .45 of an ounce (14 grams). This is a ballpark figure on average. So USPc40 with 12+1 would...

Do you carry extra mags when concealed carrying?

According to Glock, a G43 with loaded mag is 20.64 ounces. A Sig P365 with 11 total HST 124gr rds. weighs in at 23.1oz. That's almost a 2 1/2 ounce difference for an additional 4-5 rounds (Glock isn't specific if their loaded weigh is with a round in the chamber but I would suspect that is...

Three model comparison in 40 S&W

    Model differences. This is in 40 S&W flavor: P30 = 7.12 length, 5.43 height, 1.37 width, barrel 3.85, sight radius 5.84, weight 26.8 P2000 = 6.85 length, 5.07 height, 1.37 width, barrel 3.66, sight radius 5.55, weight 24.96 USPc = 6.81 length, 5.00 height, 1.38 width, barrel 3.58, sight...

Possibly the Ugliest Hk in History ONLY $1300

As ugly as that HK is, I’ve seen some Glocks that were the stuff of nightmares. Chopped grips, horrendous stipple jobs, trigger guards cut off and all sorts of crap that just make you say ‘why would anyone do that to a gun’.

Since it comes up, let's see and hear about your pets....

We have two rescue cats. The first was only about 2-3 weeks old and the only survivor of a litter that got drowned in a ditch during a rain. Mother wouldn't have anything to do with it for some reason. So we took her in and had to bottle feed her for the next month. She made it and we've had...

Do you carry extra mags when concealed carrying?

I hear you on that! Particularly Florida during a long, hot summer (I'm in the Tampa Bay area). I carried the G26 for years and the G19 or G23 prior to that. But at the end of a long day I was more than ready to take the gun off. The P365 on the other hand, well you just forget it's there...

Too many forums in my opinion. Consolidate.

Yep, same here. Only for me it clogs up my sinuses. Sucks too because I like cheese and ice cream and such. There are dairy digestive enzymes you can take, but they only go so far. Normally I just have to stay away from dairy or be prepared for the consequences.

Anybody put a HK45C magazine release in their USPs?

That is correct, the first photo is a USP 45 (before the upgrade) and the second photo is a P2000 (with the upgrade). The paddle is the same for either. As far as the P2000sk, it would make a good replacement for the Glock 26. The G26 has the advantage of being able to use all of the higher...

    Hammer-fired or striker-fired

We got back from the match just a few minutes ago. We had a wonderful time. My son really enjoyed the experience and I got the chance to see a couple of my old work buddies and we went out to dinner afterwards. Very please with how well my son did. We shot 89 rounds on three course of fire...

    Hammer-fired or striker-fired

I have an Outlaw match this afternoon. I'm going to use the USPc40 in this match and run it through it's paces. This will be the first time I've used a hammer-fired pistol at this match. Before I used my G19FS. Letting my son use that set up for the match. It is his first time going and...

    USPc conversions

Here is the normal 9mm barrel in the 9mm slide of the USPc: Here is the 9mm barrel in the 40 S&W slide: And as a comparison, here is the 40 S&W barrel in the 40 S&W slide: So obviously there is a lot of room with a 9mm barrel in a 40 S&W slide. The 9mm can be shot in a 40 S&W slide...

Do you carry extra mags when concealed carrying?

I've had both, got rid of the G43 and CCW the P365. Here's why; the Glock 43 is a solid pistol. But it is limited because of the design of the mag. They can't make it smaller, nor can they increase the capacity. So you're stuck with a pistol that is on the large end of the single-stack...

    P30sk vs. VP9sk vs. P2000sk

What is your preference? I've owned both the P30sk and VP9sk. They were extremely comfortable sub-compacts. I'd give the not to the P30sk only because I prefer hammer-fired pistols. But both were rock solid. I have never owned or shot the P2000sk. I do like that it can be had in 40 S&W...

Do you carry extra mags when concealed carrying?

I normally carry a Sig P365. This was the last pistol I qualified with for of-duty carry prior to retiring. It is small, light and comfortable. I carry it with a 12-round magazine. I do carry a spare mag and have done so now for the last 5+ years. For the P365, I carry a spare 15-round...

    HK45c

I just made a post about having a hankering for a P30 in 40 S&W. And then getting a 357sig and 9mm conversion barrel for it to turn it into a 3-n-1 platform. I'm also getting a hankering for an HK45c. A buddy on a different forum has been chatting about them and his desire to get one...

    P30 in 40 S&W/357sig

So I've had a couple of different P30's in 9mm. I liked them quite well and they were excellent pistols. Never seemed to hang on to them though. I've had four different P30sk's as well and never seemed to hang on to them either. Well, I've a mind to rectify that. I've been having a...

Paddle or Button - opinions on VP9 mag release?

In general I've really become a fan of the paddle release. I like it because it is ambidextrous. This is important to me as an instructor because one of the things I like to emphasize is one-handed manipulations and having to use your support hand, like if your strong hand has been injured for...

Where is all the P2000 love?

Picked up this back in February. It's in 40 S&W with an extra 357sig barrel. Picked it up in a trade that was heavily in my favor. It's a V2 and found it to be extremely smooth. And I was well pleased with the accuracy. This one makes a lot of sense to make my main 'woods carry' pistol. In...
