G3K Build?

Yes sir we built 100 of these G3k . Matter of fact we were the ones that pulled our factory G3K barrel and sent it to RCM so they could get proper measurements. From our post sample factory gun. It's best to build it the proper way and use the proper locking pieces and part too many people like to Hodge podge these guns together. The German spent a lot of money in time and research making sure that their weapon was properly made we also testfire the guns before you receive it sir they are an awesome build..

Master builder. ;)

So back to my question about LP's. What does use of an incorrect LP cause? Ejection problems? Feed problems?, Battery problems?

Sarcoptic mange?

Crop Circles?

Yellow spots in my lawn?

I'm just curious.
The incorrect locking piece can make the bolt stay locked up to long and have ejection problems, Bolt carrier not traveling back far enough. On the other end of locking pieces. The bolt can unlock to soon. That sends the bolt carrier back way to fast!!! It hits the buffer so hard the bolt still try's to go rearward and pushes the rollers out. This is a damaged receiver from rolers

It took me a while to kinda figure things out. The more I think I know the more I realize how dumb I am  Along with those roller marks. I also busted 2 plastic stocks. Busted the trunion out of the receiver which kinda ripped the ejection port side of the receiver. All of this was years ago now. It is a SBR but 99% of the time it has had a sear pack in it. Probably 20K threw it

The shorter you go the harder it is. That barrel is about 5 1/4". By all means if you have questions about your build ask Jeff. I will say I enjoy the questions so I'm absolutely not trying to discourage you from asking. I'm always trying to learn myself :)

Any idea who built the first 51Kb?
at the time I was working on mine .me and a guy name nohair were both working on the same project. other then that bill fleming did not do one.. But I think mine was the very 1st change out barrel one . Because at the time my buddy Eric no hair was doing One without change out barrel.. And as far as the angry dragon Is within 21E style I've never seen another one. Seen others use the old 21 But not the 21E

Edited for clarity:

I thought I would take a minute to apologize to the internet.

I recently purchased a G3 kit included in which was a GW receiver. I got a little butt-hurt after being told by two different builders that Gewehr Werks receivers are too much trouble to bother with. I started to besmirch the seller (gasp).
This evening I cleared my head of bad thoughts and sort of "assembled" the receiver. I slid on a grip frame then pushed a buttstock in place. I grabbed the recently assembled bolt and dropped it in. It slides very nicely up and down the recoil spring. It also slides thru the receiver very nicely. I'm going to hang on to this. I'll add it to my stash. I'm still going to use the PTR for my K build (if it ever comes together) but this GW will be good for something, someday.

Sorry seller. I admit that it's not welded up yet, heat may change things, but I dont think it's as bad as I made it out to be. You deserve an apology.

The Geweher works receivers are made on the same (actually improved) die set that they bought from ORF. There is nothing "wrong" with the recivers, they just take a lot more work on the part of the builder and it might not be worth their time with the backlogs they have. Every Cetme I've built for more than a decade was on an original ORF receiver. I bought a bunch of them in 2010 when they were $25 each.

Those receivers had multiple issues in missing lots of proper stamping. If they were off of the old FMP dies when the factory was sold. PTR received the new set of dies from the factory each factory has 2 sets of dies A and B die.
Todd tried his best to make them work but they still had lots of issues . Is from square rails to proper embossings for the claw Mount and upper Ridge.

These Dies have been improved over the years and are much better than they originally were after They were taken away from Tim by the original owner and Cleaned up and Is retool.
To save money and have a better product For the customer it is easier to get something that is correct like the ptr receivers.

If a person has enough time they can make them work. But they will take a lot of work in time to make correct.

I seen the dies when they came in from the FMP plant many many years ago. we received 2 semi loads of G3 parts from the sell of the plant . PTR received almost everything else.
There actually has only been one owner of the dies he still owns them. once Todd passed
Tim attempted to repair the dies to make them better but actually that didn't work so the owner had the dies retooled but these dies were just wore out over the years from the factory use. That is why the If PTR receivers are so crisp and clean they were the new set of dies that were never used at the plant.

Don't get me wrong with lots of money and time they could be made to work. But I also wouldn't want to see anyone purchase them for a home build that do not have the proper skill set or tooling.

I miss Eric something terrible. I'm still close to his family, I was texting with his son last night. You are correct, his is a fixed barrel. I knew his was one of the first if not the first. That's why I asked if you knew

Me Too! Brother he was one awesome dude I miss talking to him about stupid stuff... The man could build some guns too...

Brother I'm glad you're there to be an awesome family member.. I miss Eric and Roger another member both were such bad-ass craftsmanships.. In such a knowledge of the mechanics of the roller lock.. I'll never forget Eric and me used to go after each other with stupid shit. I remember one time I was going to have some aluminum forged receiver blanks for a r's cut to the specification as It's clone of the 416 rifle since I had 18 of them in my shop when they 1st came in to the country. So the next thing I know Eric took an AR15 lower and painted white markings all over it and said look I did it..
