Music What Are You Listening To?

The more I think about it, my tinnitus should be completely expected.
48-YEARS of loud music and at least 100 concerts.
Loud motorcycles
Working in a Chrysler stamping plant for 4 years
Driving a commercial truck 60hrs a week, with the window down for 5 years
All my racecars, that have literally broken garage windows and knocked stuff off shelving units
Lots of firearms shooting, sometimes without hearing protection

It just dawned on me....maybe why that's why I haven't slept well for decades. They ring loudly, 24-7. Wonder if something can be done?

I've got a bunch of 1970's Kenwood stuff that came from a PX in Germany. I bought it 1976 from a guy I worked with at Chrysler's [he was a junkie]. It's in the basement, along with my wife's stereo system. My Kenwood speakers are model 888's. 5-way, with 15" woofers. This stereo ROCKED!!! I have bad tinnitus, mostly due to that stupid stereo.
I still have the Pioneer SX-980* receiver and the Pioneer HPM-100 speakers I bought in 1978 at the PX in West Berlin. The Seiko Diver's Watch I bought there a month or two before is on my wrist right now. It had a $550 complete refurbish as new a couple years back at Industrial Watch Works. 4x what I paid for it. Worth every penny.

The receiver and speakers have been sitting in a storage locker since 2006. In Canada. I'll be repatriating them soon. One side of the receiver was blown to begin with and there are all kinds of upgrades for both, so they will be shipped off for that. They've been in the original boxes the whole time but I have not had eyes on in any detail in almost a decade.

It's been a very long time since I was into stereo gear. As you can tell. I know jack about anything made in the last 25 years, tech advances, nothing. My buddy in Berlin had a Pioneer Spec-1/Spec-2 Amp/Pre-Amp combo and a set of Bose 901 Series IV's. I actually wasn't the biggest fan of the speakers. I would have gone for a set of Altech's that could take the power they put out but those had to be special ordered. If I was looking at something with more power I'd look at those, but those are all I know.

*IIRC 1978 was the last year for analog gauges, 1979 was all blinking lights.

I was a hard rock rock kid in the 80"s. In the early 90's i got divorced. I suffered from depression for a while. I don't know if this song helped or hurt me.

I've had a rough week. So tonight's spin is a bit more mellow...and is accompanied by a glass of bourbon.
