Music What Are You Listening To?

When we saw Sabbath at Pine-Knob, We talked to OZZY a couple minutes, then asked him if we were gonna meet anybody else? "you want to talk to Tony? Geezer? My wife says "no, is Sharon here? Ozzy went and got her. The security was trying push us out, and I held our ground. We told them "Sharon is coming out". They laughed and said "Yeah...sure. Now go!!" I argued some more, and about 30 seconds later, they all scattered like roaches. They were scared to death of this little woman. LOL!!! She was as nice as could be to us, but I'm sure she's a bitch to everybody in the business. Without her, there'd never have been a solo OZZY.
That's probably true. All I know is, the guy she was with before Ozzy, there was no such path available to her....to put it another way, who she was, and the role she wanted to play was not available there but Ozzie was, regardless of how you see this observation, built for it. The man needed a minder or he would have self destructed long before now, even with his Keith Richards like capacity to absorb drugs and alcohol. Sharon filled that role.

Jeff Lynne of ELO had his shit together. He was, and is a true musical genius and Sharon would always have just been Sharon Lynne.

Her dad had her in front of all the rock-stars. Ozzy and Sharon seem perfect. Nobody else was/is strong enough to handle him, and his star was always kinetic-energy... till she figured out they could rule that world. She may be very dominate...but there's no question of their love for each other. Can you imagine what a baby-sitting job that would be? Talking with OZZY and Zakk at that Christmas show, they were ready to party. Sharon wasn't around. I'm so glad they've both cleaned-up their lives. They'd both have been dead by now.
Sometimes, co-dependencies work out okay.

@Lamont and @MMissile ..........you suck. ;) 🤣

Just kidding!!!!! I'm extremely envious. Ozzy is iconic, and I grew up on his music.

Cheers and congrats on having the opportunities that you had!!!!!!!!!
Now you get to hate me more.......

I was never a Sabbath or an Ozzie fan. MMissile at least this all meant something to him and he worked to be there, me, I just happened to be there that day. Happenstance. Sorry.

Honestly, of all the actor/celebrity/rock star types I've ever met, Gene Hackman. I watched that guy stand in the the middle of a slush lined wind swept side street in downtown Chicago where we were shooting (I was just an extra playing a bodyguard type, maybe 5 seconds of screen time the whole movie) the climactic scene of "The Package" for most of an hour, (Where Tommy Lee is about to take the shot with his sound suppressed AUG) allowing anyone who wished to approach him to have their picture taken with him, a few words, etc.. He didn't have to do that, the rest of the talent were all in their trailers doing whatever. I think it's just the kind of guy he was. Former Marine too. Hoffman used to tell stories about Hackman getting in bar fights when they were roomies in NYC. "He's so macho".....LOL.

Everyone's heard that saying about life imitating art. In 1989 I was playing a Secret Service/Russian whatever (it was never clearly defined on screen although nominally I was Russian) agent on a PSD team in a movie. 20 years later, real life I work in Baghdad for 4 years doing exactly that. In 1989, I'm watching Tommy Lee set up for the scene where Gene kills him just as he's about to take the shot with that suppressed AUG. Now I snickered a bit at the time, as "I knew" the AUG was not a sniper rifle. What I DIDN'T know, because I could not afford one back then, was how accurate they really are. All that having been said.....

Sweet silence. :)
Difficult to tell--- factory 16" green stock, factory 20" green stock (cut down barrel), or AUG-P?

A1 (early Interarms import, not Gun South) with current production 16" barrel and Ratworx can. Extended gas system dumps through a threaded hole in the back cap. Hearing safe.

Very cool. No hate or jealousy. Just in the right place, at the right time. Life is like that...and has been for me, more times than I can remember.

My buddy's select-fire AUG, wouldn't run at all. He had it, and ran the semi-pack in it. It was too finicky otherwise. It was a cool rifle, but made me never want one. One thing for sure....nothing else can be mistaken for an AUG.

I'm always happy for people who get things, or do things they want to. Even more, when they don't expect it. It's the best.

Yeah there's something wrong with it. This one has a registered postie pack in it. Totally reliable semi or full. Group size on the 25m sero target was half that of a S&W 5.45 I was also zeroing that day, all three holes touching.

I cannot tell you how much I love that progressive trigger.

The trigger does take a little getting used to. ;)

Yeah, his rifle didn't operate well with the auto-trigger. He's passed-on, and Lord knows what happened to his awesome firearms collection. His wife didn't like my demeanor, so I was never contacted about any of his stuff being sold or left to me. We were very good friends.

Lots of cool stuff in this thread. I was/am still an Ozzy fan.

My musical tastes are varied, but tonight I decided to spin my favorite album...

@Razzle NICE! My stuff is boxed up in the basement someplace. Not that, but I was into Pioneer Elite stuff at one point. Pecan wood Advent tower speakers - the Cult, Supertramp, Yes, Janes Addiction never sounded so good. My poor neighbors below me :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Get your stuff out of the basement!!!!

Pioneer Elite is awesome equipment and some serious $$$. I got into vintage audio about 10 years ago - before the hipsters drove up the prices and took the fun out of it. I've got two systems (both Marantz). My small system is a 2285B receiver, 5030 tape deck, and 6300 turntable. My big system (in storage) is the 2130 receiver, 300DC amp, 3650 preamp, 5030B tape deck, and another 6300 turntable. Prices on these have gone through the roof in recent years (if you can even find them) but I paid bargain basement prices for mine.

Right now, I'm rocking Cerwin Vega DX-7 speakers (I tend to piss off the neighbors, too), but I'm really thinking about a set of vintage Klipsch Cornwalls - if I can ever scrape the $$$ together $$$.

I try to spin a couple albums a week. I'll post em when I can.

I've got a bunch of 1970's Kenwood stuff that came from a PX in Germany. I bought it 1976 from a guy I worked with at Chrysler's [he was a junkie]. It's in the basement, along with my wife's stereo system. My Kenwood speakers are model 888's. 5-way, with 15" woofers. This stereo ROCKED!!! I have bad tinnitus, mostly due to that stupid stereo.

What?

my tinnitus is from shooting with inadequate ear protection. Pretty sure. Either that or front row Billy Idol.
