Yep, both tactically and operationally.

I never really thought about it until talking to some Army counterparts, but European railways are limited in width where they go through tunnels (which is frequently apparently). Movement of the King Tiger by rail was hampered by this.

So, to bring this back to the original topic, a single stack panzer would have served the Germans well in this case.
